Hello, I am Gabriela Hennigan,
I am a special education teacher, a childhood neurodevelopmental specialist for 8 years, with special focus on the brain - based neurological therapy called Melillo Method TM I am certified in, and also in other methods, such as interactive metronome, behavioural therapy, RMTi reflex integration and social skills training. I help families with the special needs children and adults live healthier lives with optimal brain performance by serving them with the best of my abilities through both, in-person and virtual intervention. The 12-week brain integration home program is based on Dr Melillo's protocols
I have learnt from The Childhood NeuroBehavioural Disorders Certification Training for Practitioners I completed, and from The Disconnected Kids book. That allowed me to achieve life-changing results with my own child with autism, and also to become a Melillo Method TM practitioner and a childhood neurodevelopmental disorders specialist. This has also changed the trajectories of many clients' lives in my practice. I am sharing my experience and knowledge in the area of neurodevelopmental functional neurology and neurosciences in my brain-based virtual programs and intensive in-person TheraCamps. I am sharing my journey to healing from the moment of my child's diagnosis and me crying in the shopping centre, to a fulfilling place in life my whole family is now. I care about each of my clients' progress and want each child to thrive.
As you go through the brain integration program, which was originally made to make your child thrive, you start to naturally adapt new habits suggested in that program, and your whole family is transforming your lifestyle by making gradual positive changes.
The quality of life for your whole family is improving in many areas. When you, as a parent, get involved in doing exercises from the program yourself with your child, the changes in your household are starting to happen, like a more active lifestyle for all of you, more outdoor time, better sleep for all of you, proper diet for all, good nutrition for all and an overall wellbeing for each family member. At the same time, your other children and a whole family start to seek opportunities to pursue their new hobbies and spend more time outdoors.
The program is changing the lives of families in any areas, as you will start to re-discover yourself as a new woman, or a new man. You eventually give up being stuck in your so far predominant role of a ''caregiver'' and start to appreciate things and resources around you, you would not have noticed otherwise.
The Disconnected Kids book has made profound changes in my personal life with my child's autism. I have taken a few steps forward and videoed the exercises from that book and as a Melillo Method TM practitioner for my clients, as a book only could be too overwhelming for a parent to follow on their own at home with their child.
Therefore, I have invested my time and effort in spreading this positive news to all other families affected by autism and other conditions.
I am very grateful for Dr Melillo's teachings on the developmental functional neurology and neurosciences in his life-changing CND practitioner training to become the Melillo method practitioner.

For children under 4 or the low functioning clients, I have prepared reflex integration exercises in a form of passive movements. Passive exercises are as effective as active exercises and they are easier to do by a parent on their child or for a senior client with a degenerative condition.
You will get a RIGHT BRAIN or LEFT BRAIN DIAGNOSIS AND REMEDIATION PROGRAM FOR A CHILD RIGHT BRAIN or a LEFT BRAIN DIAGNOSIS AND REMEDIATION PROGRAM FOR AN ADULT OR SENIOR with exercises appropriate for your child's current baseline level and the next levels, as your child progresses throughout the program.
The exercises mentioned below are divided into 4 developmental stages and 3 levels of difficulty. A parent receives a complete program broken into 3 easy-to-do schedules with the instructional videos to follow as follows: the first 2 weeks - 2 x 20 minute rounds a day, the next 2 weeks - 2 x 40 minute rounds per day, from the week 5 onwards - 2 x 60 minute rounds per day. The exercises should be done 5 times a week.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW AS A NEW PARENT, AN ADULT OR A SENIOR CLIENT ABOUT THE HEMISPHERIC EXERCISES IN THIS PROGRAM
A major key to success is performing these exercises properly. Read these rules, process them, and follow them throughout each and every activity.
Frequency is more important than intensity. This means that one quick, short-term burst of energy or effort will not create or maintain changes in the brain. Changes in the brain will occur with more frequent, less intense types of exercises that are done repeatedly for a set period of time.
Movement must be slow & purposeful. Your child won't be able to focus on the activity if he moves too fast.
Combine with mental activity. Combine some mental activity with the physical activity at the same time to increase proper stimulation and development of your child’s brain. Add these mental activities only at Level 2 or 3 or later on in the program.
Exercises must be performed a minimum of 5 times a week, twice daily for at least 20 minutes at a time More is great but less isn't recommended. The best success for sticking with the regimen is by keeping it consistent with school-time. Weekends off.
Do the program after school and before dinner. Your child’s appetite will be healthier and her attention span during homework will be better. If you wait until evening, fatigue will become a negative factor.
Stay motivated and positive yourself. Your child isn't always going to be enthusiastic about this new routine. It's imperative that you always appear enthusiastic, even if you are tired or feeling discouraged. Your child will more often than not want to do as you do.
Give it time. Remember, there are no short-term, quick-fix types of exercises, but rather exercises and activities that, hopefully, will create a lifestyle change in your child that will make him understand the importance of physical activity as well as mental activity over the course of a lifetime. These lifestyle habits will continue to help increase the capacity of your child’s brain, improve its function, and prepare your child for a higher-quality and longer, healthier life.
