Primitive Reflexes
To be able to move, humans are born with basic motor and sensory reflexes known as primitive reflexes, allowing us to actively sense and engage with the world around us.
Sensory stimulation — like sound, smell, light, touch and movement — then flows back toward the brainstem and brain.
The process activates genes that stimulate the cells in the nervous system to grow and form new connections with other brain cells.
Movement stimulates brain development and in the process the primitive reflexes must be integrated – they must disappear.
As a child moves and interacts with the world, it stimulates growth in a higher level of the brainstem known as the pons, releasing new reflexes that allow for more sophisticated movement. This, in turn, allows the child to engage with the world around them in more active, stimulating ways, causing areas of the brain to grow.

KEY POINTS:
- Comprehensive primitive reflex assessment on day 1
- The 45-minute sessions are scheduled in the amount of minimum 2 daily, with 10 - 60 sessions in one week of the intensive theracamp
- Parents / caregivers will be shown by an experienced RMTi reflex therapist and Melillo Method TM certified provider, how to do specific exercises to develop your child's lower parts of the nervous system, such as the brainstem in which the reflexes are housed
- Post - intervention assessment on day 5
- A home program is provided on day 5
- A follow up call after 4-6 weeks
Your reflex therapist will use a step-by-step approach to stimulating the reflexes in a very specific way with the use of reflex integration methods - RMTi and Melillo Method.
You will get a reflex integration home program to continue the reflex therapy until the reflexes are inhibited and replaced with the postural reflexes.
You will learn a very specific proper stimulation of the reflexes to help your child in the following areas:
Focus, Organisation, Comprehension, Emotions, , Memory, Behaviour, Reading & Writing , Facing the Fear and in co-activation with the use of some NeuroTools.
