COMPONENTS OF THE SOCIAL COMMUNICATION THERACAMP
The intervention is delivered by Gabriela Hennigan who is also an RBT qualified behaviour therapist, apart from a few other methods she practices, and is very experienced at work with children and teenagers with autism and related neurodevelopmental conditions.
During the TheraCamp, you as a parent will be trained in some evidence-based interactive and direct teaching techniques used in the ESDM, Floortime and DIR models, to later use them at home with your child.
Your child will playfully work on the skills to increase his/her responsiveness, engagement with others and initiation, and to increase language, imitation and play skills.
We will work on expanding language in pre-verbal, minimally verbal and verbal children.
We will work on joint attention and initiating social interactions in a playful naturalistic way.
Who can benefit from this programme?
Children with ASD, speech delay or at risk of developmental delay from age of 1 until the age of 10.
TheraCamps take place in Katowice, Poland at the Arsenal Palace Spa Hotel. The location is selected on purpose, as it's within the Silesian Entertainment Park with various amenities for the families, such as The National Planetarium, The Legendia Amusement Park, The National Stadium, Japanese Gardens, many pubs and restaurants, and within walking distance to the Hoopsa Trampoline Park.

- The One Week Early Intervention Social Communication TheraCamp has 10 sessions +
- Social Communication Skills & VB Mapps Assessment is on day 1
- Parents / caregivers get training during the Social Communication TheraCamp
- Post-intervention assessment takes place on day 5
- The Home program is provided on day 5
- A follow up call is scheduled within 4-6 weeks after the theracamp
- Continued support after the TheraCamp or discharge from the program
